ELIAS ANDERSON HERNANDEZ

Exhibiting:12 Sep 2022 – 12 OCT 2022

Artist Statement – Reality and anthropomorphic are the soul derivations of my character-building universes to tie life-like experiences through alternating and world-making concepts. These concepts often emerge from dreams, memory, and childhood nostalgia. Along with these structures of co-existing and dreaming, my figures mold into their worlds from interests in life. I also introduce earlier influences like cartoons to cross-reference my life and how dementing a figure can be to bring a sense of reality and anthropomorphism that sparks my curiosity in painting. I take inspiration from Philip Guston, Peter Saul, and Giorgio De Chirico through color, simplicity, and figure-building.26 Yrs Old

Paula Barral

PAULA BARRAL SPAIN
Graduate in fashion design and styling. My true passion has always been art, I spent my childhood afternoons drawing and painting, which has led me to win several drawing competitions. I was very clear that I wanted to study fine arts, however, due to other circumstances I ended up studying fashion design, but very happy because I had a lot of artistic subjects.
I worked as a designer. In the search for a different figurine on which to draw my collections, my character with big eyes, long, thin neck, an eternal eyeliner and a mysterious look was born. I immediately felt the need to portray this character on canvas. I have never really stopped painting, but now I feel full and happy with my character, and I will continue to paint and bet everything on my big-eyed dolls. Because they are magical and special beings, and I want them to make people as happy as they make me.
